Traveling For Spring Break?

Spring break is just around the corner!  Many people will be traveling over the spring break holiday.  Packing is always a chore but can be easier by utilizing different ways to conserve space in a suitcase.  Jamestown Shoe and Luggage Service offers these methods to packing a suitcase:

•    The traditional way of packing a suitcase is to fold clothes and stack them in the suitcase.  This method does not save space but does make it easier if you want to get to your destination and scoop your clothes out of your suitcase and load it into a drawer.
•    Bundling clothes.  Basically, this is where you layer clothes together and then fold/roll them into one package.  The con to this method is that you need to unwrap the bundle in order to access the clothing pieces inside.  However, this could save space in your luggage.
•    Rolling clothes.  This is where you roll your clothing into little packets.  This method saves space but could result in more wrinkles in your clothing.  Also, it might be harder to pick out your outfit when all the clothing is rolled up.
•    Using a compression bag (bag that you place clothing in and then suck the air out of the bag).  These bags probably work best for bulky items.  Might have less wrinkles and you can use the bags to store dirty laundry for the return trip home.
•    Packing cubes.  These cubes will keep your clothing organized.  Use these with one of the above methods to keep all of your outfits organized.

No matter which method you prefer to pack, make sure that your luggage is in ship shape before heading out on your trip.  Jamestown Shoe and Luggage Service is an approved luggage repair shop for brands such as Travel Pro, Atlantic, Delsey, Victorinox (Swiss Army Luggage), Ricardo, Skyway, and Briggs and Riley.  We can also service other manufacturers and luggage that is out of warranty.  We can fix or replace luggage retractable handles, luggage carry handles, luggage feet, luggage zipper sliders, luggage zippers, and more.
